Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University (SGBAU)
Established on May 1, 1983, Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University (SGBAU) is a public state university located in Amravati, Maharashtra, India. Named after the social reformer Sant Gadge Baba, the university was formed by partitioning Nagpur University to cater to the educational needs of the Vidarbha region. The university's campus spans approximately 480 acres and houses 28 teaching departments offering a range of undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, and doctoral programs across disciplines such as arts, science, commerce, law, education, and engineering. SGBAU has jurisdiction over five districts: Amravati, Akola, Buldhana, Washim, and Yavatmal, and affiliates over 500 colleges, serving a student population exceeding 300,000. The university is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and has been accredited with a 'B++' grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC)
